Lithophanes - filigrane pieces of porcelain art. The lithophane is an ancient art form that patented in 1827. The name is derived from Greek LITHOS - the stone and PHANOS - transparent, thin unglazed porcelain, also known as biscuit china.

Lithophanes are created in artistic craftsmanship. The difference in light transmission, and the heights and depths of any subject make every motive appear vivid and moving.
